Yamamori Trading Co., Ltd., a Japanese manufacturer of soy sauce, seasoning sauces, and ready-to-eat food products based in Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture, Japan, has expanded its business portfolio by promoting and marketing the POITO Food Waste Processing Machine in Thailand.
POITO is an innovative food waste management solution that utilizes microbial technology to directly decompose food waste. The system converts food waste into water and carbon dioxide (CO₂), significantly reducing the volume of organic waste while minimizing unpleasant odors commonly associated with food waste storage and disposal. In addition to lowering waste collection and disposal costs, POITO contributes to more sustainable waste management practices.
One of POITO's key advantages is its environmental impact. Compared to conventional incineration methods, the system can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 92%, making it an effective solution for organizations seeking to achieve their sustainability and ESG objectives.
The company's primary target customers include hotels, restaurants, food processing factories, and various commercial establishments looking to improve food waste management efficiency, reduce disposal costs, and strengthen their environmental responsibility initiatives.
Mr. Hiroyuki Takashima, Director of Yamamori Trading Co., Ltd., commented:
"As regulations concerning food waste reduction and industrial waste management continue to become more stringent in Thailand, environmental compliance has become an increasingly important management issue for businesses. It is no longer only a matter of legal compliance and brand value enhancement, but also a key factor in maintaining business competitiveness."
Recognizing these market developments, the company aims to sell approximately 10 units of POITO annually during the initial phase of its business expansion in Thailand.
POITO was officially introduced to the Thai market at THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2026, one of Asia's leading international food and beverage trade exhibitions, held in late May. The product attracted considerable interest from businesses in the hospitality, food service, and food processing sectors, reflecting the growing demand for sustainable food waste management solutions in Thailand.
